ACG UGIB 2021 — ACG Clinical Guideline: Upper Gastrointestinal and Ulcer Bleeding
American College of Gastroenterology, 2021
Use Glasgow-Blatchford score 0–1 to identify very-low-risk patients who may be discharged with outpatient follow-up when otherwise appropriate; use a generally restrictive RBC transfusion threshold around 7 g/dL in stabilized patients; perform endoscopy within 24 hours after resuscitation; use effective endoscopic hemostasis for high-risk ulcer stigmata and high-dose PPI after successful hemostasis, with transcatheter arterial embolization favored after failed endoscopic therapy.
Strong recommendationModerate certainty
