SCCM Donor Management 2015 — Management of the Potential Organ Donor in the ICU

After death determination and in coordination with the organ-procurement organization, use protocolized donor management to preserve organ perfusion and oxygenation, treat hypotension and endocrine/metabolic derangements, use lung-protective ventilation, and reassess organ-specific suitability without allowing donor-management goals to influence the preceding determination of death.
