FIGO PPH 2022 — FIGO Recommendations on the Management of Postpartum Hemorrhage 2022
International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 2022
Treat postpartum hemorrhage with rapid cause-directed control and resuscitation. Give tranexamic acid 1 g IV as soon as PPH is diagnosed and within 3 hours of birth, repeat 1 g if bleeding continues after 30 minutes or restarts within 24 hours, escalate promptly to tamponade or surgical/radiologic control when medical treatment fails, and use a local massive-transfusion protocol for severe bleeding with fibrinogen replacement when levels are critically low (commonly <200 mg/dL).
