Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America / International Consensus, 2020

Concomitant high-dose corticosteroids should be titrated under IVIG/PLEX cover while holding oral cholinesterase inhibitors during mechanical ventilation.
Clinical Context & Relevant Topics (3)
Disease ReferenceDedicated ICU management of myasthenic crisis: respiratory mechanics, airway timing, IVIG/plasma exchange, trigger control, medication hazards, and extubation.
Critical illness polyneuropathy and myopathy: recognition, risk reduction, diagnostic approach, ventilator liberation, rehabilitation, and prognosis.
Mechanism-based diagnosis of acute and acute-on-chronic hypercapnia, controlled oxygen, NIV, invasive ventilation, auto-PEEP troubleshooting, neuromuscular monitoring, and post-acute planning.
