AHA ALS — 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC: Adult Advanced Life Support
American Heart Association, 2025
Treat hemodynamically unstable wide-complex tachycardia with synchronized cardioversion. In stable regular monomorphic wide-complex tachycardia, antiarrhythmic therapy and selected diagnostic adenosine may be considered; avoid verapamil/diltiazem and avoid adenosine in unstable, irregularly irregular, or polymorphic WCT. For symptomatic bradycardia, correct reversible causes, use atropine when appropriate, and escalate to pacing and/or adrenergic support when instability persists.
Clinical Context & Relevant Topics (2)
Disease ReferenceAlgorithmic tachy- and bradyarrhythmia management, new-onset ICU atrial fibrillation, wide-complex tachycardia differentiation, and refractory Torsades overdrive pacing protocols.
Multimodal resuscitation, post-cardiac arrest syndrome management, targeted temperature control, and delayed neuroprognostication.
